Chandon Mare - LMS Legend

From playing his 450th game, with the Tshwane Bat(d)gers, to playing in the inaugural India Super Series, Chandon Mare’s LMS journey is nothing short of spectacular!

Following an impressive career that spans over a decade, Mare has reached some monumental milestones - 9626 runs, 64 fifties and best bowling figures of 5/12: his all-round performance has been pivotal to his teams’ successes.

2023 was particularly special and unforgettable for Chandon. His selection for the South African team, Global Jets, in Delhi in the India Super Series marked a high point in his career. The journey didn’t stop there - he also travelled with the Jets for the Malaysia Tour and also proudly made it to the Quarter Finals of the World Champs that same year. Awesome highlights for any #amateurcricketer.

For Chandon, #LastManStands is more than just a game; it’s a passion that allows amateurs to live out their cricketing dreams on an international stage. “Start local, go global,” he says, “LMS allows us amateurs to travel abroad and play against other countries. It’s the closest we’ll get to ever representing our country. LMS is for everyone, and meeting new people and sharing experiences is priceless. We play hard on the field, but we share cold ones just as hard off the field.”

Chandon’s other favourites? Playing at UP Groenkloof, and drawing inspiration from LMS player, Jason Edwards and international LMS icons, Matt Turbill and Sam Lang @langy_jnr

Here’s to many more unforgettable moments on and off the field!!

Congratulations Chandon…richly deserved, LMS Legend.
