We welcome another absolute legend into the fray here today – Jo’burg’s (South Africa) Charlie Liquorish (Player ID 70979), who has played 419 games (180 of which are for his side “Cant Remember”).
Let us see what makes him tick!
BATTING:
* Matches – 419
* Innings – 398 (bats in 95% of games)
* Runs – 8,195
* Average – 28.8
* Balls faced – 6,216 (or 1,243.1 overs)
* SR – 131 runs per 100 balls (6.55 runs per over in a 5 ball over)
* 50s – 51 (1 every 7.8 innings)
Comment: Nice and steady here, Charlie enjoyed his best year in 2019 (1,381 runs @ 36.3, SR 138, 9 x 50s) and I am backing him to top that again in 2021!
BOWLING
* Matches – 419
* Innings bowled – 292 (bowls in 70% of games)
* Overs bowled – 785.1 (or 3,972 balls)
* Wickets – 224
* Average – 25.7 runs per wicket
* Econ – 7.23 runs per over
* SR – 17.7 balls per wicket
* 3wi – 15 x 3wi
Comment: These are fantastic numbers, holding a 25 average at under 7.5 is a top marker for any LMS bowler, nicely done mate.
KEEPING
* 51 catches
STATISTICAL SUMMARY
* Bat: 8,195 runs @ 28.8 – SR 131, 51 x 50s
* Ball: 224 wkts @ 25.7, Econ 7.23, SR 17.7, 15 x 3wi
* Gloves: 51 catches + 15 stumpings
Comment: Very handy indeed, I am backing him in to push that bat average north of 30 next year whilst maintaining his excellence with the ball (and continuing to successfully dabble with the gloves).
419 GAMES SINCE 2014:
Charlie debuted on 03 May 2014 and so has been active in LMS for 6yrs 7mths and 3wks (2,428 days).
In that time, he has peeled off an incredible 419 games.
Presently, he averages 58 games a year (averaging more than 1 a week in a 52-week year!), and – more accurately – has played a game of LMS every 5.8 days since his debut!
Absolutely fantastic.
CONGRATS MATE!
Upon being presented with his Legends cap, Charlie commented “Becoming a Legend is nice – to be recognised for all the hard toil but enjoyable toil. The most memorable LMS experiences are winning a few tournaments. One that stands out is when Tommy (Tomasz “Tommy Gun – Pew Pew” Cieslakiewicz – another recent LMS Legend), hit a Home Run to win us the game out of the blue and yeah, it sticks in the memory of the better moments to share a beer over afterwards. To anyone who wants to play LMS in the future, I’d highly recommend it – a wonderful way to get a bit of exercise, meet new friends and let out your competitive spirit and then share a few beers, celebrate a win, commiserate a loss. It’s a wonderful way to spend a Saturday!”
Another well-earned Legend of LMS, I look forward to tracking your career as it continues through the years.
