RULE NUMBER 17 - TIED GAMES in KNOCKOUT ROUNDS = LMS Super Over
If the scores are tied after the allotted overs, the teams will play an additional over, known as the LMS Super Over.
The team that batted first will bat second in the LMS Super Over.
The batting team may choose any two batters from their team to participate in the LMS Super Over. If a wicket falls, the remaining batter will be the Last Man Stands. If a second wicket falls, that is the end of the batting team’s Super Over.
The bowling team must select one bowler to bowl the LMS Super Over.
The same rules as the last over of an innings will apply to the LMS Super Over:
-
All penalty balls will count as one run to the batter and have to be bowled again i.e. the bowler must continue to bowl five legal deliveries.
-
There will be no stealing off the final ball of the over.
-
A home run can be scored off the last ball of the over.
The team with the highest score wins. If scores are still tied after both Teams Super Over the winners will be:
-
The Team who lost the least wickets in super over
-
Team with most boundaries in super over
-
Team with the least amount of extras in super over (Extras include byes, leg-byes, wides and no-balls)
-
If the teams are still tied, the team with the highest World Ranking will be the winner.
