Simon De San Miguel (Player ID 25142), an Australian playing in England, has recently ascended into LMS Legend status.
As you will see below, he has earned this off the back of just an absolute barn full of runs at a borderline ridiculous average.
Simon has played 374 games to date, 109 of them for Credit Suisse, and it is his incredible conversion rate of 50s that will likely define him as one of the absolute greats.
Let us dig!

BATTING – STACKS OF RUNS, BEVO OF NOT OUTS & GOOD RATE
Simon debuted in 2011 and his lowest year average is 54.3 (the only time he averaged under 62.2!)
OK, look, it is easier if I just show you:
* Games – 374
* Innings – 373 (bats in 99.7% of matches)
* Runs – 14,492
* Not outs – 197 (1 every 1.9 inn or not out 52.8% of innings!)
* Average – 82.3 (WOW)
* Balls faced – 8,121 (or 1,624.1 overs)
* SR – 178 (8.9 runs per LMS over)
* 100s – 0 (likely the last thing he needs to do before godmode activates)
* 50s – 204 (1 every 1.8 inn or scores 50+ in 54.7% of inn)
* Top score – 93* off 28 (SR 332)
Comment: For me, it is the combination of all the numbers here, but in particular the ridiculous intersection of average, rate of 50s and rate of not outs.

BOWLING – HANDY UNDERCARD
Simon is a batsman of the highest quality, there is no two ways about that, but he has also taken a swag of wickets at numbers that anyone would be happy with.
* Games – 374
* Innings – 250 (bowls in 66.8% of matches)
* Overs –610.3 (or 3,053 balls)
* Wickets – 167
* Average – 26.9 runs per wicket
* Econ – 7.36 runs per over
* SR – 18.3 balls per wicket
* 1 x 5wi (best 5/14 off 3.0)
Comment: Very neat and tidy, I reckon anyone who strikes under 20 balls per wicket, bowls under 28 runs per wicket and concedes under 7.5 an over is doing a good job for themselves, captain and team.

SIMON’S BEST YEAR SO FAR
Was 2020 (in combination of bat and ball), which must be annoying and terrifying for his foes.
* Bat (2020 – 31 inn, 18 no): 1,363 runs @ 104.9 – SR 197, 20 x 50s
* Ball (2020): 18 wkts @ 18.5 – Econ 7.27
Comment: Incredible, just incredible.
He also scored 1,495 runs @ 124.6 (SR 187) in 2015 & 792 runs @ 132.0 (SR 183, 13 x 50s) in 2013.

STATISTICAL SUMMARY
All together now:
* Games: 374
* Bat: 14,492 runs @ 82.3 – SR 178 [8.9], 204 x 50s
* Ball: 167 wkts @ 26.9 – Econ 7.36, SR 18.3, 1 x 5wi, 8 x 3wi
Well Simon, you are an absolute star mate, I cannot wait to see what 2021 and beyond brings you mate.

Ross Cawood, London Franchise Owner adds,
What a guy! Simon De San Miguel is part of the furniture in the LMS London set up. He first came to light when he would pop up in photos every single day of the week (Sunday to Sunday) in the umpires What’s App group of guys scoring runs. I started to follow his progress and he has never disappointed.
He has ‘his’ team Credit Suisse, and has played for many other teams North and South of the river in London in the last decade, making many lifelong friendships along the way. He is a proud Australian but holds a British Passport and given his achievements, stats and popularity over the years, the England selectors picked him last year to captain the England team at the 2019 World Cup in Miami. This, unfortunately, didn’t go ahead due to the global pandemic.
A top all-rounder who will guarantee you a 20 ball 50 in most games, will give you an economical spell with the ball and an excellent team man with a very knowledgeable cricket head on him.
He is a fantastic ambassador of LMS and his stats are world class to top it all off. Well done buddy!
