As Wade Butler tips over the 400 games mark, we wanted to shine the light on this LMS Legend! Wade has racked up the games, runs, wickets and caps in a relatively short period of time debuting for the Parul Nanda led, Hit & Run, back in 2017. It wasn't his day in match 1 with the bat but since his debut it's been his day far more often than not, amassing a staggering 13,000 + runs at an average of 60+ and Strike Rate of 200+. Amazingly, in Wade's 6 years of LMS he has only had one year where his SR dipped below 200. Probably the only record escaping Wade is joining the LMS century club. He's been very close twice, ending up stranded not out on 96 and 97!
Whilst Wade refers to himself as a batsman, he's a pretty handy bowler with 180 wickets at an average of 21 and economy under 6.4!
Wade's incredible run scoring now sees him inside the global top 30 for runs scored. Wade is 11th in Australia and 2nd in Sydney for highest run scorers. Unbelievably, the top spot is held by his skipper and fellow LMS Legend, Charles Sharpe from Sydney's most capped side, Johnny Cash Memorial! Although he doesn't roll the arm over much these days, Wade sits inside Sydney's top 30 wicket takers list.
Wade has been the player of the match an incredible 73 times in his 402 matches! He sits 5th in Sydney.
Wade is an extremely popular and well-known player in Sydney. Wade has played LMS right around Sydney, particularly in Campbelltown, Western Sydney, and the Eastern Suburbs so he will be known to many players in the Sydney competition. Whilst Wade's statistics accurately suggest his quality as a cricketer, it's his quality as a bloke that has endeared him to the many different sides and players across Sydney lucky enough to have had him line up in their colours... the opposition on those occasions were not so lucky!
Congratulations Wade, you might have to start running Charles out as you chase the number 1 run scorer title in Sydney!
